I have a manuscript called .Revelation You Can Understand covering the 22 chapters of Revelation. If you read it you will know more about me in the introduction in chapter 1

Here I have one goal and that is to show you that if people do not take any notice of God. people on the earth will be responsible for destroying the world. The book Revelation is a picture of the world what has, is and will happen. God has shown that he is the true God because what he shows us, what has happened as he said,, is happening now, and what is happening in the future. God also gives mankind, people a choice. People's choice determines what will happen in the future.
The choice is extremely simple.
People can listen to God or not.
People can take heed to God or not.
People have ears to listen and eyes to see what God has done and in the end he has warned people it is a mistake to ignore God..
Unfortunately it appears that as I discuss Revelation that people are going to ignore God. But if people do listen to God the end pictured in Revelation can be rewritten because God himself told Jeremiah an Old Testament Prophet that if he (God) declares to let people know a terrible event is going to happen, such as the world being destroyed because people will not listen to him. If the people wake up and repent then the evil that was going to happen will not happen.





 

I know many Vickers, Ministers, Fathers, Deacons, Theologians, Lay People and Teachers will say Hendrik it is written in the Book of Revelation so it is going to happen. My answer is that the way God works does not change and when he talks  as he talks in Jeremiah chapter 17 what happens, will happen according to the choices people make.
People make their decisions and the future depends on the choices people make..


 

I am going to start in Chapter 21 and 22 of Revelation which is the goal, the climax where there is a New Heaven and Earth.. I will then travel backwoods chapter 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Chapter 1 is an overview of Revelation and chapter 22 is the conclusion ..

Often in the Bible you hear a statement such as, "You that have ears, listen"  Also, "Can you accept this statement." In Revelation in chapter 2&3, "If you have ears listen to what the angels have to say to the churches" In other words you may have ears, but you may not accept what the Bible has to say.


 

Most people in the world, the people on the earth do not accept the Bible. The Old Testament came from the Jews. Jesus said "Salvation came through the Jews." (John 4:22.).

.The Christian Bible makes a simple statement. "You must believe that God exists" (Hebrews 11:6).

Today as I pen these words we notice

Evolution is doing its job of trying to prove that God does not exist. Particularly in the area of proving that the world came into existence by chance and the whole development of the world is by chance and even now I notice the problem that has always existed in Evolution is where the physical matter came from in the beginning. That was a hole in their theory and cleverly a new thought has popped up "Yes, I can prove matter pops into being and then out of existence."

Let us look at the odds that what we see is by chance
With the knowledge we have today and as we see further into the universe and we see the images of the earth floating in space and how all the bodies around the earth has a roll in keeping the earth habitable. Then you look at the earth, gravity, air, seasons, people, animals and the majesty of the body itself and its make up.
The odds of things happing by chance the odds cannot be calculated. The odds do not exist because what we see is simply amazing. And as we learn more about the world, heavens, people, we begin to appreciate how amazing it is that what we see exists.

This is in red because people should be looking in awe at what they see and commonsense tells you  that somehow what we see came into being not by chance because that is ridiculous idea, that then leads you to an intelligent being that made the heaven and the world, plant, people, animals.

Commonsense should be leading you to God. Things can simply not have happened through an Evolution based on chance.

The Christian Bible makes a simple statement.
 "You must believe that God exists"
(Hebrews 11:6)

I have now arrived to the thesis of what I am going to say about the Bible and Revelation.

If a person is going to say that is no God, they are being stupid. In people's face the evidence that God exists is evident.

Even though this evidence is in people's face people will still say, there is no God.

If that is you, then you have ears to hear and eyes to see but you have decided in spite of what you can clearly hear or see there is no God.

This is. similar to what God says through Jeremiah a prophet 10:1-25
Hear the word that the Lord speaks to you, O house of Israel. Thus says the Lord: “Learn not the way of the nations, nor be dismayed at the signs of the heavens because the nations are dismayed at them, for the customs of the peoples are vanity. A tree from the forest is cut down and worked with an axe by the hands of a craftsman. They decorate it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so that it cannot move. Their idols are like scarecrows in a cucumber field, and they cannot speak; they have to be carried, for they cannot walk. Do not be afraid of them, for they cannot do evil, neither is it in them to do good.” (ESV)
. It is interesting to  notice how God talks about people who do these things are stupid, deluded in their minds. Chasing a concept that does not exist exist in someone's mind.

The whole world the whole 7 billion people here 2012 should realise there is a God and he sent his son into the world where he lived till about 33 years of age he was crucified and he rose from the dead and Jesus is now in Heaven. Knowledge is the foundation of all things. My www.youmustrepent.com talks about each person on the planet needs to hunt down what the world is all about. The world, the reason a person is born, the destiny for each person and what happens when each person leaves the world and note 2012 7 billion people exist today and the whole 7 billion will be gone in the next hundred years approx. A person needs to lift themselves out of the business of the world and have a look a macro, the world, the Bible is information about God and his plans and then go to the micro to hunt down each person's situation and see their part in the world. In God's world every person on the planet the whole 7 billion are important to God.
Contrast about how God cares about people and how mankind treat people as a disposable item. The world is full of murderers and people who do the opposite to what God wants in peoples behavior.

From God comes, pureness, peace, gentleness, open to reason, merciful, all good things, no uncertainty, no insincerity. And this harvest of goodness is sown in peace by those who make peace . If you read James in the New Testament you will find this paragraph.

You make a choice. and you live your life according to what you believe..

The Revelation of Jesus Christ

Message to the Seven Churches

The Patmos Vision

      9I, John, your brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. 10I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trumpet, 11saying, “Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.”

      12Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands; 13and in the middle of the lampstands I saw one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His chest with a golden sash. 14His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters. 16In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.

      17When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man.  I ( Hendrik de jong) will take you through a journey of what Revelation is about. I will say I am one voice talking about the Bible Revelation so you will need to hunt down the knowledge which is right, the truth. There is a truth unfortunately the world is full of false Prophets who are making a mess of Prophesy in Revelation.
Commonsense needs to be the rule and do away with the so called magical, not possible concepts.

So Revelation is a revelation that God himself showed John while he was a prisoner on the isle of Patmos. John wrote the book of Revelation.
God in fact gave the revelation of the future from himself to Jesus Christ, then his angel told and showed John. Revelation chapter 1, verses 1-3
Now, I wonder whether you have understood what these three verses are saying clearly, without Theologians input about other issues?
God the father gave the information to his son Jesus Christ, from there it went to the angle who gave the information about the future to John and because John wrote it down we have that revelation that came from God, to Jesus, to the angel to John then to us.

Whole books are written about the reliable of the Bible and you can hunt down the information yourself using Google. God made sure he had men and women who dedicated their lives to making sure the original message from God is not corrupted. Even in my office I have the Old Testament, The New Testament in Hebrew OT and Greek NT. Therefore you can know that the Bibles you are handling are reliable. Off course there are Translations of the Bible that are corrupted but you have to do the work yourself and make sure you have a reliable Bible and nearly all the major Christians use one of the reliable Bibles. Whether it be the American Revised Version or the KJ, or the New KG or the NIV and the list of reliable Bibles is large. Find the Bible that you find easy to read.

Revelation chapter 1: 4-7 tells us Revelation was destined to be read at the Seven Churches in Asia.

Hendrik's comments on Chapters 21- 22 being penned 
I can start by saying the obvious about Revelation chapter 21 verse 1.
John saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away and the sea was no more.
  I am sure you have no problem in understanding what this verse is saying. Heaven and earth is gone. Gone, gone and a new heaven and earth comes on the scene and it is a earth without the oceans, sea.

 A lot of Denominations talk about people will be living on a renovated earth where the old earth is renewed and then decay is gone and people will be on the earth and Jesus Christ will reign from the Jerusalem in our Israel, the physical Israel. You might also think the same because major Denomination have this teaching about the end of the world we have today. Even in Peter 2 : 10 states, But the day of the Lord will come like a thief then the heaven will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will dissolve with fire and the earth and everything on it will be burnt up. That tells me there is a mighty end of the heaven and earth and we will talk about it over the next Chapters in Revelation.

I am going to show you that the reason there is a new heaven and new earth is because people, nations, countries have destroyed the earth. God did not destroy the earth, but mankind has destroyed the earth completely. God  saves people from the earth which in a typical fashion destroyed themselves and the very earth they lived in.

  Revelation is not about God punishing people for not listening to him so he decided to punish the world. The truth is what comes from God is about pureness, peace, gentle, open to reason, merciful, good things, no-uncertainty, no-insincerity. This leads to a harvest of righteousness of peace to those who make peace. You can read about this in James 3: 17-18 in the New Testament.

Unfortunately mankind is on a course of the opposite of God wants done on the earth and even now 2012 we witness the countries who oppress people, kill people, nations who through their religion belief they should take over the world and millions of people are killed in the process. In the future I will show you that Revelation shows how mankind, nation, countries are simply planning to destroy themselves because of their intolerance of other people.

So people have destroyed the world themselves and because the old world, earth has been destroyed God of the Bible shows there is a new heaven and a new earth and this chapter 21-22 talks about the new place people will live.

Let's look at Revelation chapter 21 and 22 a bit more.
Revelation Chapter 21 shows you a new heaven and earth. Then we see Jerusalem, Jerusalem is on the earth the new earth and Jerusalem is where God lives, Jesus lives . The city looks like a rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal
Jerusalem is something like over a 300 kilometers long the city is made of transparent gold on the foundation, walls of Jasper and there are twelve gates looking like an emerald a single pearl, the streets pure gold, transparent as glass.

Here you see a city, Jerusalem absolutely beautiful. Can you picture this city? I can and I am sure you can as well.

There are twelve Gates four on each side and the name of the twelve tribes of Israel and the foundation has twelve foundations and on them the twelve apostles of the lamb, Jesus.
Once again as you will see later this picture of the 12 tribes and the 12 apostles is not  saying you will see a name above the gates or you will see a sign on the 12 apostles on the foundation. The 12 Gates are talked about in Revelation where 12000 is taken from each tribe to 144000. The 12 tribes is most likely a picture of completeness and the 12 tribes simply gives a complete picture. The whole 144000 out of the 12 tribes is a picture of all the Christians who are saved on the earth. (Many Theologians do not agree with the statement I have said) and the foundation of the 12 apostles is exactly that the 12 apostles of Jesus Christ is the foundation of what we believe about Jesus Christ and Salvation

Now using commonsense, you see a beautiful city called Jerusalem where God lives and  we see in this chapter there is no sun, we know there is no sea, we are told the gates will never be closed, there is no night and the nations the people will come into Jerusalem bringing glory to God. Note nothing dirty, unclean will enter only God's people will be on the new heaven and earth.

Picture a world where there will be no crying, mourning, weeping, pain because all the other no longer exists. Jesus himself said that those who hunger for righteousness will be filled.

Chapter 22 0f Revelation starts with a river flowing from God's throne and the Lamb (the Lamb is Jesus) in Jerusalem and the river is called the water of life and it flows through the street of the city and on either side of the river was the tree of life with its twelve fruits, giving its fruit each month for the healings of the nations.

Are we looking at what is really happening. Is there a river in the middle of the street in Jerusalem (Also known as Zion) and the trees are there as well? Well, the picture as it is is pretty good because we know in the Bible it does talk about the river of life and we know the tree of life was in Eden where Adam and Eve disobeyed God and there was a tree called the tree of life. And God was worried that after Adam and Eve sinned they would have eaten of the tree of life and live forever. No one knows exactly what we will see when we are there, but we do know Jesus gives us the river of life when we become a child of God and we know then we eat of the tree, i.e. such as God's word which is out food. and we will live forever.

That means we understand the meaning of what the picture we read in Chapter 22 of Revelation verses 1-2. That is great. We can leave the picture we have here chapter 22-1-2 and be surprised with what we see when we are there.

If we look at Revelation 22:3-6 you see:
There is nothing accursed in the city
There will be:
The throne of God and of the Lamb (Jesus) and his servants (us) and they will see his face and his name will be on their foreheads.

Visualize this scene you with God and Jesus sitting on their throne and God & Jesus will be visible, you will see Jesus' face. (you know that God is a spirit so when you see Jesus you will see God. As we are told in Hebrews chapter 1 :3 Jesus is the exact reflection of God.  Jesus lives in Zion, Jerusalem and you will walk the streets of Jerusalem.
As I have said before you will not see a sign on their foreheads, our foreheads.

What is good is that we are told again night will not be there because there is no need for the sun because the Lord God will be their light and they will reign for ever and ever.

How it is possible that God will be their light actually there is no answer, but we do know God, Jesus, his word is our light and the concept of living for ever and ever is beyond our understanding as the same concept that God was always. God had no beginning. This knowledge about God is outside of our mind to comprehend. So the earth has light without a sun. How it happens we do not know, maybe when we are there we might find out.

I am no going to list a number of things:

 1/ These words are true & trustworthy sent by God to the prophets, angels to John.

 2/ The things written will happen shortly. (2000 is a short time. What! To God 1 day is a 1000 years and a 1000 years is one day. But as people we are impatient. God's time is the right time and his patience is meant to give us time to realize God is real so listen to God and his son Jesus Christ)

 When John saw and heard the things we are going to talk about over the next 22 chapters John fell down in awe. The angel said to John I (angel) I am a fellow servant with you your friends and prophets and those (the those is us) who keep the words of this book. This gives you empathy with other people who follow the words of the Bible, we are fellow travelers and will be together when we leave this earth.

 3/ John is then told to let the world know what was written in this book.

For you, this Revelation has been written for you. That is you and you can make your own mind whether you accept it or not.

Do note this verse 11 of Revelation chapter 22 is simply saying, well, just keep going with what you do. If you do evil keep going, if you are filthy keep going on doing it and if you do the right thing keep on going to do the right thing.

Verse 11 is really saying  keep going having your life, but note these things:

* I (Jesus) I am coming shortly to give payment for what ever you have done.

* I have always existed the Alpha the Omega the first and last.  The beginning and the end

* Happy of those who have their robes washed. (That happens when you repent and come to Jesus) and you will have the right to the tree of life (Note in Revelation Chapter 2 the 1st church mentioned Ephesus, if you listen to the angel of the church you will have the right to eat from the tree of life. But note you have to listen, you have to conquer to be in the paradise of God. What we are talking about now in these chapters 21 and 22.

Will you listen? Maybe not. To you this might be rubbish.

* It is important to understand that nothing unclean will be in the paradise of God, such as:
Outside are the dogs, sorcerers, fornicators, murderers, idolaters, and everyone who practices falsehood. This list is extremely large because people who do not do the right thing will not be in the paradise, heaven. Such as cheating people, stealing, always lying, the drunkard, those who are filthy, those who oppress people. Those who murder and that includes in history under the name of  (Hendrik's God, your God) God, Jesus Christ . People who are participators in killing, persecution against each other, as Calvinist, Arminians, Catholic Church, ie such as the inquisition. and the Protestants who drowned the Baptist people because of baptism and the list is frightening. The world is full of people who say they are doing things for God, but the reality is they do not know the living God. If you kill you are an enemy of God. That also includes people who  murder the so called terrorist who say they are fighting for Allah and the same way people who say they murder for God.
(God is about: Righteous, Justice, Equity. What comes from God is pure, peace, gentle, open to reason, mercy, all good things. no uncertainty, no insincerity, this harvest is sown in peace by those who make peace. This is from God and should also be us because it is so important that we live this way.)
( People, you or me we should not delude, delude, ourselves. But unfortunately we do it to ourselves time and time again. God shows no favorites but you can come to God to sort things out and he will listen to you and you can have a fresh start, again and again.)
Unless you listen to God, his son Jesus Christ you will regret and be sorry. God, Jesus cares about you and he wants to you to eat of the tree of life and you to be in paradise with him.
( I am sure many people are simply misunderstanding why God has to find a way of saving people after our parents Adam and Eve disobeyed God. In God's world to sort out the problem of people was so disastrous that God had to let his son Jesus to come into the world and his son had to be crucified so that through Jesus blood that he shed for us we could be reconciled to God. The problem was so serious that mankind was destined to be destroyed but God found a way to sort things out. And the price was so enormous the only way to make things right he had to let his own son to be killed. Amazing, mindblowing! )
I believe God did what he had to do because he cared about us so much and the only way to save us from destruction was through his son Jesus and when we come to Jesus and we have our sins are forgiven we have entry to the kingdom of God. Sin was keeping us out of God's world.
God is showing his mercy for us  because we are told mercy triumphs over judgment. God, Jesus cares about you.

Here is the invite from God to mankind.
Come!
If you hear Come!
If you are thirsty Come!
He who desires Come! To take the water of life with no price.
So there it is: come to Jesus Christ for rest from your work and your soul will find rest because the shadow of death has been removed. You will live your life and when you die you go home to the wonderful place we are talking about here in
 Revelation chapters 21-22.

There is a warning from God from those who distort this wonderful message in Revelation.
Jesus finished this book Revelation by saying
I am coming soon!

You can see here in Revelation 21 and 22 there is a lot to think about and the message is inspiring for those who have neglected Revelation. The God, Jesus of the Bible has given hope to  mankind and God, Jesus gives you the invite Come!

Satan Bound

      1Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3and he threw him into the abyss, and shut itand sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.

      4Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years. 

Satan Freed, Doomed

      7When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison, 8and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. 9And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. 

Judgment at the Throne of God

      11Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. 12And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. 13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. 14Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Hendrik's comments on Chapter 20. 1000 years, Final Battle and Judgment Day  which is an overview depicting happening from Jesus Christ time. Satan bound for a 1000 years, Satan, God's enemy let loose for a while. The final battle then the great Judgment Day.

This Revelation chapter 20 is exciting because it covers from the time of Jesus Christ when he started his ministry on the earth and then it ends with the judgment happening where all people on the earth give an account to God. After the judgment then all things are completed and then you can look at chapter 21 and 22 of Revelation to see the ultimate goal, God's Kingdom in place. Jesus said while he was on the earth he said, 'The Kingdom of God is at hand', finally it happens.

As we look you will decide how you approach this chapter 20. The 1000 years where Satan is bound, Satan is literally seized, thrown into the pit and a lid put over locking him in.  some Theologians say it is a literal 1000 years while others say the 1000 years Satan is bound is an era, such as, we are living in the Christian era where people go into the Kingdom of God which started with Jesus, Apostles, then through Asia and the world. That decision is yours and you need to do your own work then that understanding is how you understand this chapter's application.

Unfortunately I cannot make is easy for you.
My understanding is that the 1000 years is an era, the era of grace. Satan has been bound for the Christian era.  Jesus said, ' The strong man must be bound before the house can be pilfered.' In the same way in the era of the Christian era, the era of grace Satan is bound and as a result people are pulled out of the fire, out of Satan's hold and through the Gospel people are freed from Satan and people go into the Kingdom of God.  So the 1000 years represents the Christian era, similar to the 144000 we will talk about in other chapters.

My comments of Revelation chapter 20

Verses 1-3 is clear it tells you an angel had the key to the bottomless pit, the angel seized the Devil Satan and he was tossed into the bottomless pit and a lid was put over him so that he could not be deceived for a thousand years and then he would be let out for a short time.

 You are now in an area of deciding whether you believe there is a battle between God and God's enemy, Satan, Lucifer and Satan is trying to get as many as possible to follow him Satan, Lucifer and disobey God.

The reason Satan needed to be tossed into the pit because God wanted people not to be tricked into listening Satan. Satan is a liar in the same way Satan tricked Eve in Genesis chapter 3. Satan said to Eve, you will not die but you will know good and evil like God. Eve Adam disobeyed God and the result was catastrophic the whole world was ruined in decay.

In the same way today people are listening to Satan's people. The Devil's people are saying today God is not right just keep going as you are. Tricked into believing God is wrong everything will be ok anyway.

The battle is real so Satan is now bound in a pit, but Satan's helpers are active today, but seeing Satan has been bound, this gives the opportunity for people today to be out of the heat of Satan himself  and we as Christians tell people about Jesus' Gospel are pulling people out of the orbit of Satan .
Jesus gives us a clue which is recorded in Matthew 12:29.  How can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.
So now we are robbing Satan's world and people go into the Kingdom of God.
So from the time of Jesus to now and the future we are in a period we call the Church era, Grace era and that is the way because Jesus is waiting till his people come into the world. As people are born people are called through the Gospel. I was exactly that I was 11 years of age in Sydney I listened to Billy Graham and I know this is the time I was called into the kingdom of God.
Jesus is patient and waiting for his people to be born and as you know it is over thousands of years and could still be thousands of years in the future.

However, that period will come to an end as we are told in Revelation chapter 20: 3 . Satan is loosed for a short period. We are told  in verses 7-10 Satan again is about deceiving people nations and there is a great battle, Satan and his helpers lose the battle and they are tossed into the lake of fire.
As we look at other chapters this scene will be understood using commonsense, not the Paradigms that so many Churches, Theologians teach.
So after the Era of Grace we see nations who are the enemy of God go to battle. We are dealing with a genuine battle where nations are simply coming together to fight other nations. Satan has his own people nations and then there is a battle so great that mankind sets out to destroy themselves and the earth.
No doubt the people fighting did not expect to see the whole world was going into a tailspin where there was not coming back and the good times were never coming back. We will see it clearly in chapters such as 17 and 18. That happens when Satan is loosed for a short period of time.

We see then in verse 4,  thrones and there is judgment happening and there is no need to be caught up in the different ideas in verse 4 because we see people killed who serve Jesus Christ, that is those who do not obey Satan.
We are told blessed are those who participate with the first resurrection that is us and we need not fear the second death.

The  events verses 4 to 6 need not follow in a particular order which Churches, Denominational and Theologians try to put together what is happening. A lot of the Bible is not written with one sentence following another. Event after each event. You need to know your Bible, the better you know the Bible the better the events of Revelation will make sense to you.

Happy are those who are in the first resurrection. That is us, you, me, I, other Christians. A clue is there for us we, they shall be priests to God. Peter tells us we are priests to God and so does Revelation chapter 1 tells us. We are priests to God. We are a Kingdom of priests.. The idea is for you to pull out what is true that you know and you will find the bit you may not understand may make sense as you keep knowing more about God, Jesus, Bible.

Revelation chapter 20 :11-15 famous and there is no need for any different applications because it is absolutely clear. The fact God has told mankind, you and me, I, others we will give an account to God. An that has happened as God said would.

The Fourfold Hallelujah

      1After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying,
      “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God; 2BECAUSE HIS JUDGMENTS ARE TRUE AND RIGHTEOUS; for He has judged the great harlot who was corrupting the earth with her immorality, and HE HAS AVENGED THE BLOOD OF HIS BOND-SERVANTS ON HER.” 3And a second time they said, “Hallelujah! Marriage of the Lamb

      7“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” 8It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

      9Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.” 10Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

The Coming of Christ

      11And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

      17Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds which fly in midheaven, “Come, assemble for the great supper of God, 18so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, both free men and slaves, and small and great.”

      19And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.

Doom of the Beast and False Prophet

      20And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone. 21And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.

Hendrik's comments on Chapter 19  being penned 

This chapter is not in chronological verse by verse, that is, the events happen one after another.
In verses 7 & 8 we see the Bride and we see the Marriage feast that Jesus talks about people will come from North South, East and West and eat at the table "I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, ... They will eat with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven Matthew 8:11
This event has happened here. Finally and seeing God, Jesus does not lie you will be with me at the Marriage Feast with our Savior Jesus. This will happen I will be there and so will you. Now you cannot picture it, but it will.

 I assume before it happens the Harlot will have been judged and I will talk about the Harlot in Chapter 17 and a clue what the Harlot is about is that the Harlot is responsible for shedding the blood on the earth.
People's blood is shed every minute of the day on the earth and over the years millions and millions of people have been killed by people. It is sad to see even here in Syria 15000 plus  2012 people killed so far and other conflicts around the world add to the people killed, earth. the killing just keep going on.

To God every person that comes onto the earth, that soul, spirit is priceless. Yet mankind treats a person as a disposable item. That may by men and women on the earth but God treats each person as valuable, there is no price on a person's soul.

So one day every person who shed's a person's blood will give an account to the living God, so the Harlot seduced people to murder. But it will come to an end

.

Note in verse 9 the invite, that is those who are invited and as we see in chapter 22, the invite is: Come!. Come! It is free there is no price.

That invite to come is given to all mankind. Every person on the earth, yet all over the world God's invite to come to the marriage is refused and is lost in Cultures and other paradigms, Theologian church speak. So most people do not come to the living God and ignore God's son Jesus Christ. Which is terribly sad because as Jesus said, many people will weep and snarl in bitter on that day. The day they thought would never happen. Finally it happens. You will experience that time that Revelation talks about in Chapters of Revelation.

Verse 11 we see Jesus on a white horse and is called Faithful and true. and today Jesus does judge correctly and makes war. and notice his robe is dipped in blood and the word of God and two edged sword, Jesus will rule with a rod of iron and on that day he will tread the wine press of fury. There is a battle today, we are at war against God's enemy who are doing their best to stop people listening.

People forget that Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords. I hope you come and you enjoy the Marriage day God's people has invited us to come.

Verse 17 to 21 we see the final battle we will talk about in other chapters because here we see a time when the final battle happens as mankind are busy fighting and at that time there is no rescuing the world as things get completely out of control and mankind destroys the earth we live on. A sad end. But it will happen, unless mankind repent to come! Come!.

The last few verses here in Revelation Chapter 19: 20 and the end of Revelation 20: 11-15 are clearly famous and for thousands of years these verses about that judgement day has been spoken by Churches, Denominations and we all know.

It is almost unbelievable that even though God, Jesus, has this scene mankind is saying by its inaction that this day will not happen.

If you like this scene is the climax of mankind. People are born they live their lives and people do what they want, or they listen to God. God warned all people they will arrive in front of me to give an account to God.

It is important for mankind, people to understand God let his son to come into the world and his son Jesus Christ has offered a way of escape from God his wrath because of sin.

So here is a picture of the event where all people give an account to the living God.

Can you picture that day when you die and with any way of being in control of your life you stand before God.

This very thought should cause people to flee towards God and sort out their lives.
So here we have Chapter 19, makes sense and even chapter 20 sound reasonable. I think you are going to enjoy the other chapters as you realise. Yes, Revelation can be understood. www.revelationyoucanunderstand.com

Babylon Is Fallen

Lament for Babylon

      9“And the kings of the earth, who committed acts of immorality and lived sensuously with her, will weep and lament over her when they see the smoke of her burning, 10standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’

Hendrik's comments on Chapter 18 being penned


This chapter deserves your attention because it talks about an event that will happen and people are going to experience events so serious that people are going to be afraid at what has happened. Unfortunately this time will not disappear as it has in the past such as World Wars, Depression in the 1933, the Credit collapse in 2008 because these events happened and people the planet, people and you started to enjoy prosperity again, but here in Revelation chapter 18 is a situation that is never to be fixed in fact this is the hour on the earth that God talks about as being everything is finished. (We will see more in other chapters.)
Let us have a look at this chapter 18 where Babylon falls over. Babylon in this chapter 18 and the Harlot belong together because we are told the Harlot is Babylon. The Harlot is the seducing where people are trapped caught up in the good times but Harlot is a seducer and Babylon is the fruits, Commerce on the earth where mankind can buy and sell.
Let us look now
Let us use commonsense in understanding what the next few verses say. Take away what you have been told, but simply look at what the words are saying.

A great angel came down and said, "Babylon has Fallen" and notice what Babylon had become, demons, foul spirits, impure passions, merchants became rich and note her impure passions, wantonness and it makes sense to say she is the Harlot as chapter 17: 5, Babylon the great mother of harlots.

Here in Revelation 18:4 a voice from heaven tell us the people on the earth to get out of Babylon and that is get away from the Harlot and do not because you will receive the plagues.

Also God has said her sins has gone up to the heavens and she thinks to herself I am a queen nothing will hurt me.

That is exactly the situation people believe the world will go on and on and nothing will happen and they Babylon, Harlot and people who participate not worrying about what God wants mankind to do.
Unfortunately
it comes to an end abruptly and we will talk about it in other chapters
God judges the Harlot and Babylon and we saw the Harlot judged in chapter 19 because the Harlot played a place in shedding blood, murdering on the earth.

The next verses from 11- 24 pictures the time when all Commerce stops.
The merchants weep....verse 17  in one hour all this wealth has been laid waste. (The hour does not mean an hour, ie 60 minutes, but a period days, months etc.

It is appropriate to note the last verse 24 And in her was found the blood of the prophets and of the saints, and of all who have been slain on the earth.

When you read this chapter don't you reckoned its plain reading is straight forward what you read makes sense.
In the same way here you see the world today what people are doing yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Unfortunately
people will not recognise the God who created the world and for that reason Revelation has a terrible end. But it need not be, mankind needs to listen to God, and what does God want people to do?
Listen to God a God who wants you, me and others to do
Justice
Equity
Do the right thing
with people.
What comes from God is:
Pure, peaceable, gentle, open to reason, mercy and other good things people can do and no uncertainty or insincerity.
Above is from God and what God wants
On the earth people are doing the opposite to what God wants us to do.
If we on the earth listened to God and repent and change our way Revelation will be rewritten where the earth is not destroyed.

As we go through the other chapters you will see, it is not God destroying the earth, but we ourselves destroy our earth.

The interesting question is: When will Babylon Falls. All selling, buying stops and the good times, prosperity will not return on the earth as it has over the history past
When you listen to the video Revelation chapter 17 about Babylon Falling my thinking is that God, Jesus, is so gracious and merciful that I am right in thinking Revelation is not about God destroying the earth because people will not repent, but God is so patient he is waiting for mankind to repent and we know one day is like a thousand years so ten days is ten thousand years, God wants people to come to Jesus because he cares about, you, me and others. God cares about the whole 7 billion on the planet 2012 unfortunately in a true sense Cultures has taken out the living God that I and you and others serve.

So I am left with the fact that mankind themselves destroy the world in the end.
So when is Babylon to fall?  I believe when the last Christian goes into the Kingdom of God similar to Noah times. The whole world was there 100's thousands of people yet only Noah and his family listened to God and they were saved in the ark after the world was destroyed with water.

So like Noah's time the last true Christian leaves the world. (you might laugh at this thought. but you know in a shift in religious thinking can move slowly over for thousands of years where the essence of God is no longer in place on the earth. Religion, Churches still in place but not the living God) So when the last Christian who is a light on the earth is gone then Satan is let out for a short period . We looked at Chapter 20 and other chapters and at this time Babylon starts to fall over. (Others chapters will put more detail). We are dealing with the last hour that God talks about and the world becomes a place where people wish they were never born.

The Doom of Babylon

      1Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, “Come here, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2with whom the kings of the earth committed acts of immorality, and those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of her immorality.” 3And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. 4The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality, 5and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery, “BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” 6And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered greatly. 7And the angel said to me, “Why do you wonder? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.

      8“The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss and go to destruction. And those who dwell on the earth, whose name has not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will wonder when they see the beast, that he was and is not and will come. 9“Here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits, 10and they are seven kings; five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain a little while. 11“The beast which was and is not, is himself also an eighth and is one of the seven, and he goes to destruction. 12“The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings with the beast for one hour. 13“These have one purpose, and they give their power and authority to the beast.

Victory for the Lamb

      14“These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”

      15And he said to me, “The waters which you saw where the harlot sits, are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues. 16“And the ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh and will burn her up with fire. 17“For God has put it in their hearts to execute His purpose by having a common purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God will be fulfilled. 18“The woman whom you saw is the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth.”

Hendrik's comments on Chapter 17
 

Ok, let us see if we can make sense of this chapter. I will give you an overview of the scene the major event and the players and then we will  tease out a bit more information.
Commonsense is your friend to help you to understand what is happening here and other chapters we will cover.

We have the Harlot seated on many waters nations mixed with the Harlot and she was sitting on a scarlet beast and the beast had seven heads and ten horns.

These verses 1-6 of Revelation 17 is about the trappings where the nations are immersed in the good life the Harlot offers and the many waters tell you she is over many nations separated by the nations etc and the Harlot is sitting on a beast and she is not sitting on a beast at all but the Harlot is the door nations are seduced to do the things that gives a good life of nations doing what they want to do. It is true to say Peoples, nations have been tricked the Harlot does not give nations fulfilment because the Harlot is Babylon as we see in verse 5 without realising the situation supporting the Harlot is the Beast which is Satan's world and the False Prophet

The Beast really is about Satan's world and the False Prophet. The Beast is really a metaphor reflections Lucifer, Satan, Devil. And inside this metaphor are the nations. So there is a mix of the Harlot and her inducements to bring in the nations and then the liar that Satan is nations participate, not realising that instead of fulfilling their hopes the nations in fact are responsible for their own destruction. So Babylon also is a metaphor as well and the nations are Babylon and as we saw in Revelation Chapter 18 Babylon the world crashes completely.

It needs to be highlighted that the Harlot seduced people nations to kill people and in particular God's people who are treated like sheep to be slaughtered which was the case in the first 100 years of AD. 2012 people are more tolerant of Christians but in the past this was not the case.

Even though many Theologians get mileage out of talking about the mystery of the woman and the beast, horns heads we are dealing Harlot, Beast, Heads, Horns. Heads and Horns we are told are kings and nations so we have 7 nations and can be periods such as Assyrian, Babylon, Persia, Greece, Egyptian, Syrian, Roman, that is 7 and really since the Roman era which went for about a  1000 years , since then there has not been a nation that has world denomination even America 2012 is powerful but is not in the same league as the periods Roman and before. There is a 8th to come what that is we can only speculate. The ten kings are discussed in other chapters and once again the ten kings can be in play after thousands of years so the nation map can be completely different.

It could be that the Verse 11,  The Beast Satan's world time, 8th King or Nation but belongs from the seven and is only to appear for a while could be the time when Satan is let out of the pit in Chapter 20, and it can be said  was, is, but does not exist and this could be a play of words saying, you was, you are but really you do not exist and that is exactly the case when Satan's world is gone. This is not a picture of Satan sitting and fighting and his angels but it is a picture where Nations are aligned with Satan's plans and so there is a final battle where people fight against each other and nations in fact destroy the world. We will discuss more in other chapters.

I think we need to lift our eyes and the complete picture a panorama of the real world between God and his enemy Satan. God has his people and Satan has his people. Real nations and people are involved and God offers a way of escape from Satan's world. Some people side with God and others simply stay on the side of Satan. And inaction means people without realizing it are part of Satan's world and according to Revelation where God has shown us in the end God wins and Satan and his helpers are gone and no longer exist and all that is left is the New Heaven and Earth and we live with God, Jesus, angels. etc.

 I hope you come to Jesus, I really do and if you belong to a Church then be motivated to serve  Jesus Christ

What we do know here is that there is a time when Satan is let loose from the pit as we saw in chapter 20 and it is in this period there is a massive fight with all nations fighting with each other but God, the Bible of Revelations shows God, Jesus win the wars and all of Satan's helpers and he himself is thrown into the lake of fire as we see in Revelation Chapter 20.

What we do find is that at the end when the world falls over the nations turn on the Harlot, verse 16. This tells you that all the promises made by the Harlot and the Beast are proven false because everything has gone pear shape and people are now afraid because the world is in a real mess. Unfortunately there is no way back to the good times and prosperity as we find in Revelation chapter 18.

I am repeating this information below from Revelation chapter 18 about Babylon falling because I think many Theologians, Churches, Denominations are incorrect. That is my thinking. I know I am simply a voice among many people Christians who have other opinions about Bible and Revelation.

The First Seal—Rider on White Horse

      1Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, “Come.” 2I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

The Second Seal—War

      3When He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come.” 4And another, a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to take peace from the earth, and that men would slay one another; and a great sword was given to him.

The Third Seal—Famine

      5When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. 6And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine.”

The Fourth Seal—Death

      7When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come.” 8I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.

The Fifth Seal—Martyrs

      9When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; 10and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, would be completed also.

The Sixth Seal—Terror

      12I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; 13and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. 14The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; 16and they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; 17for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

 


Hendrik's comments on Chapter 6
It is critical to talk about the 7 Seals, the Seven Trumpets and the 7 Plagues in order because the events in fact one follows the other and you will see why as we progress..

The first Seal a white horse and its rider went out conquering to conquer and we see conquering is important because the Seven Churches talk about conquering, overcoming and this scene is Jesus, The Word, Evangelism calling people to Repent and to come. come.

The Second Seal and the horse bright red to take peace from the earth and a great sword to slay and here even Jesus said, he did not to come to bring peace but one brother would be against the brother a daughter with her mother and we know there is no peace as the Word of God convicts people and Satan's helpers are busy trying to destroy God's people. This has happened. is happening and will in the future.

The Third Seal a black horse a balance in his hand and the weighting out food here is talking about famine. World  famine, famine when soldiers siege cities  so famine is a part of today's world, past, is and in the future.


The Fourth Seal a pale horse his name was Death and Hades and Death and Hades is with us today. We die and those who do not know God go to Hades. (You may not agree, but in www.youmustrepent.com I have videos that talk about when we die people either go the be with Jesus or they go to Hades. and of course here in Revelation we see a time when a fouth of the earth to kill with the sword, famine, pestilence, done by the beasts of the earth.

These first four are happening they have in the past, happening today and there is a time coming we will talk about when men in fact begin to destroy the world and a fourth of the earth is affected.

The Fifth Seal Revelation Verse 9-11 is talking about us and Christians who die. Some are killed for the witness of Jesus, and many simply live and die and seeing they the Christians are saying how long to God then there is a clue that when you die you are not asleep but alive. and note we are a kingdom of priests and we know that from other texts in the Bible.

So here we have the Five Seals who are dealing with yesterday, today and tomorrow.

What we have discussed here with the Seals has a cord saying it is commonsense when you cut out the the things that are hard to believe any way.

The sixth Seal is interesting because things are changing on the earth and I am going to show you that we are now seeing where Satan has been let out of the pit that we talk about Revelation chapter 20 and Satan knows his time is running short and the metaphors sun became black, the moon like blood, stars fall to the earth and finally the sky vanished like a scroll, every mountain removed we are witnessing an enormous upheaval on the earth. Exactly what it is is not known because we see the world changing technology is changing, weaponry changing and this great battle I will talk about more in other chapters its make up is impossible to work out because imagine how different this world will be in two thousand years or more. Technology that has never been dreamed about could be in place.

A key to knowing what is happening is because everybody is afraid and they hid themselves caves etc, calling mountains, rocks to fall onto me. So people are absolutely afraid. The world the earth  is arriving to that final end. The last hour that God talks( about and his statement his people will be spared from that last hour other chapters we will talk about that last hour) where men and women have started to destroy the world and even these events happen mankind will still not recognise the living God as we will see in the final plagues and these plagues end in the world being destroyed.

Another key is the end of this chapter 6 verse 17. The great day has come, who can stand before it.

An Interlude

      1After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, so that no wind would blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree. 2And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God; and he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the bond-servants of our God on their foreheads.” 

The 144,000

      4And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousand sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:

A Multitude from the Tribulation

      9After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; 10and they cry out with a loud voice, saying,
      “Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” 11And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12saying,
      “Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.” 

      13Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?” 14I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15“For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. 16“They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; 17for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

Hendrik's comments on Chapter 7
Revelation Chapter 7 used used by many  Theologians, Churches, Denomination to set up their views and often what they teach is not commonsense. Let us have a look at the Chapter and pick out what we know:
Verse 9- 12 we see a great number of people, that no number can be numbered they stand before the throne of God clothed in white robes and worship God.
Then:
Someone said to John who are these people ?   That is those in the white robes that came from the twelve Tribes of Israel and notice 12000 multiplied by twelve tribes leaves 144,000 and even though we know this number and they had white robes we are told they are a number that cannot be numbered 144,000 verse 9 is a metaphor, symbol number reflecting the whole number so that number though it has 12000 by 12 that number can be numbered so it leaves with what many Theologians believe and me, the 12000 from the 12 Tribes is not a number but the complete number who become Christians.
The man said to John:
they have come out of the  tribulation and have washed their robes and made them white and they serve God day and night in the temple, which is the same as Revelation chapter 3 and verses 7-13 the Philadelphia Church where it talks about keeping people out of the hour of trial what is to come upon the earth ( and we will talk about this hour of trial in other chapters) and those members of the Philadelphia Church will live in the temple as priests to God and we also know all of us are priests to God and will live in the temple of God as his priests. That is talking about all of us who become Christians on the earth and we know that number cannot be numbered by us.
We can add more to show we are talking about us in this present era by
 other things we know:
They will hunger no more, neither thirst etc etc and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes
and
That is us

I think there is a good case for saying chapter 7 is talking about us, Christians in this era.
So we have pulled out what we know, so now let us look at other information we have.
Four angels
were holding back the four winds from the 4 corners of the earth, and the wind will not blow to hurt the earth until the seal is on the servants of God. As we will talk in other chapters this seal is not an actual sign on a person but simply a sign again that we serve the living God and we are his servants. This is happening today in this era of grace where the call from God is come. Come! Yes come!
Later in other chapters
I will show you the angels release the wind on a year, month, day, hour and we will discuss it more because I am saying that time when the wind is loosed and hurts the earth is when Satan is loosed and the trial of hour starts to happen and the world is on a spiral , in the end the world is destroyed by mankind themselves. In other words, God does not destroy the earth. Man does.

I think this is a common sense approach to chapter 7 of Revelation.
Am I right?  I am one voice, you will need to do your own work and decide what is right or not.

The Seventh Seal—the Trumpets

      1When the Lamb broke the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.

      3Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. 4And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel’s hand. 5Then the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

      6And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound them.

      7The first sounded, and there came hail and fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth; and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

      8The second angel sounded, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; and a third of the sea became blood, 9and a third of the creatures which were in the sea and had life, died; and a third of the ships were destroyed.

      10The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of waters. 11The name of the star is called Wormwood; and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.

      12The fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun and a third of the moon and a third of the stars were struck, so that a third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a third of it, and the night in the same way.

      13Then I looked, and I heard an eagle flying in midheaven, saying with a loud voice, “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!”

Hendrik's comments on Chapter 8 being penned
I suppose verse 1 of Revelation 8 means many people realize, or do not  the significance when the Lamb opens the seventh seal and there is a silence of half an hour.
Silence, not 5 minutes but half an hour. You can imagine the angels and people around, the saints holding their breath wondering what is happening. The silence would have been deafening.

This silence is heralding in a major shift in the history of the earth, there were the thousands of years, in chapter 20 as 1000 years Satan is tossed into the pit. an era of Grace God, Jesus calling mankind to come! Come! and then a time arrives where Satan is let out of the pit, (chapter 20 )after being bound for a 1000 years. So finally happens and this half and hour is where Satan has been loosed and in heaven the inhabitants know that time prophesied was happening and the earth was going to spiral out of control as we look at other chapters

Verses 3 and 4 incense we know is a sweet savor with God and the prayer of the saints can have an application of exactly that, God's prayers .

So the scene is set for the final period, the grace is closing in  and now Satan has been loosed and Satan, Lucifer, Ancient Serpent knows his time is short so he is angry and is going the cause chaos over the whole world.

So the chaos starts with the first trumpet and hail, fire, mixed with blood thrown to the earth and a third of the earth was burned up and a third of the trees burned up and all the green grass was burned up.. This angel is heralding an event that happened on the earth and the picture is a metaphor of the event. Hail, fire, blood affecting a third of the earth and it is a scene of turmoil sadness, misery and blood.
The question here is when and how?
The actual time can be any time from now. It can be in 500 years, can be 1000 years, can be in 10 000 AD or 20 000AD could be in 50 000 AD Remember God is gracious and is waiting for the fruit of the land and is waiting for mankind to repent, but Revelation the Bible indicates that mankind in spite of the misery they cause on themselves and starting to destroy the earth mankind refuses to listen to God. A great pity and sadness.
Also
  In the years ahead nations goodness know which nations will fall and nation rise up in the years ahead. Imagine in 10 000 years. Nations we never imagined could be dominate on the earth. America could be simply in the history books.
Also
how about technology? Where will the world be on the Internet? Where will space travel be? Where will warfare be seeing now see warfare with technology fighting with out people to man such as the Drones and now the packs on soldiers back to fire ahead with out them going forward but they can see behind the enemy and fight from a distance? How about in space, satellites and the list can simply go on and on. In 10 000 years things that were not even imagined could become a reality, so we can see the trumpets can be a reality in a way no one has thought of and that is why I have said at the beginning of Revelation You Can Understand the best person to understand the Bible Revelation is the person who lives in the future time. Some people will have been written books and follow paradigms used in the Churches will have been found to be ridiculously in error and causing harm to the hearers.

I need to set the scene with the 7 Seals, 7 Trumpets and 7 Plagues.
As you know in the beginning of Revelation chapter 1 it tells you this book Revelation is a revelation of what is happening in the future and Revelation is for us as Christians. Revelation is to encourage us to persevere because everything is under control so Revelation tells you what is happening now and it shows you the climax where we are in the new Heaven, Earth where we will live with God, Jesus Christ.

Think about this:
The World, people, nations does not recognize God who created the world and Jesus Christ, so the World does not accept Revelation the book because it is for us as Christians because we recognise the God who created the world and we recognise Jesus Christ is the Messiah and we have been to Jesus to have our sins forgiven and we are the true Christians.

So we know Revelation is for us and Revelation is full of metaphors etc that tells us what is happening and will be happening in the future. All we need to do is see what the metaphors in Revelation the Bible means.

As I have said previously Revelation is not God doing something dramatic such as causing fire to come down from heaven or the stars fall onto the earth, but Revelation is showing you what happens on the earth and what mankind does on the earth and finally mankind destroys themselves and the earth, and God has rescued his own people and we live on the new world, heaven, earth etc
So
Today, mankind, people, nations are living their lives as they see fit and we see the battle between nations where some nations feel as though they should take over the world and we have our dictators, we have governments who are busy oppressing people. So there is a situation where we could be taken over by people who would take away our freedom, such as a fulfilling life, religion, equality of women and the list just goes on and on. Some religions do not follow the living God we follow. There is only one God and God has attributes such as pureness, gentleness, peacefulness, open to reason, full of mercy full of goodness, no insincerity, no uncertainty. Other religions have gods, have gods made by mankind, culture and peoples imagination.
Now
Also there are people, nations, who even though not perfect do their best to uphold values that represent values such as  pureness, gentleness, peacefulness, open to reason, full of mercy full of goodness, no insincerity,  no uncertainty.. People do their best and often we have to have wars to stop people from taking over nations who will take away our freedom.
So
there is a battle continuously between what we call good and evil and lucky for us God makes us strong enough that justice is one step ahead, usually, put things right, of people who do the wrong thing.
Now
this battle of forces is not seen on the earth, the earth, people nations in a micro sense are busy living their life and the strong survive and the weak are taken over or oppressed etc and that is life, it has in the past, is today and will in the future.
However
even though the world, nations people treat in contempt the God we serve and spite on the concept of Satan yet the real battle is between God and Satan because in the end we are gone, we die and through the Bible, God, Jesus their is light, darkness has been removed because the end of mankind is not hopeless because God has rescued us from a world that is busy destroying each other and the world.
God, Jesus has rescued us from a world that will pass away.
Good news.
We are
now ready to unpack the 7 Seals, 7 Trumpets and 7 Plagues
We are witnessing what mankind does and God has given us a revelation that shows us what mankind does to itself, we see ahead of time because God knows the end at the beginning and that is why Bible Revelation could be written.

So now we will go for an amazing journey as we unpack the Seals, Trumpets and Plagues.

It is very important to understand you do need to follow the Seals, Trumpets and Plaques in their order otherwise you will miss the history of mankind's behavior in the future, and mankind's respond as events unfold..
So

So
Revelation chapter 8 verse 7 the angle blew his trumpet and there followed hail and fire mixed with blood which fell to the earth and a third of the earth was burnt up and a third of the trees were burnt up and all grass was burnt up

Remember this above is a metaphor of the events and this first trumpet is bringing in events happening on the earth so mankind, nations are in place in future history. Satan is going to motivate nations and these nations are busy fighting each other. That is a group of nations against another nation or nations
Now
The hail, fire and blood and the results shows Nature is being injured such as so many trees destroyed and grass burnt, and other events which involves nature.
What has happened?
Well, that depends when it happens. If the nations started fighting each other in a few years, such as 10 to 20 years we can almost guess which nations
are and who is fighting who. We can also hunt down what has happened and how. Weapons, Nuclear etc etc.
The chances of the first trumpet being in the short term is highly unlikely that is if, if if we know things can happen quickly.

My premise is that when Satan is let out of the pit after being bound during the period of grace the 1000 years, trouble is coming onto the earth and it is starting with the 1st trumpet

The reason for suggesting more time to come because we are in the era of grace and God, Jesus is being preached, through the Gospel all over the world and millions of people are coming into the kingdom of God.
and
God is a most wonderful and gracious, God, Jesus that he is waiting for the fruit of the earth and the fruit is us, as James tells us, and God is waiting for the late fruit which means God is showing his patience in waiting for mankind to repent and we will see right at the end in Revelation when mankind is destroying the earth, God is still waiting for mankind to repent even as the earth is being destroyed by mankind..

Can I say to you, you will need to know your Bible well to connect other statements I make because I hate text proofing where people use a text then explain it to make a point to a person. I believe God's Word is itself a huge ocean in which you need to be immersed into it so that the Word of God is you. So when people see you they see God and his word, not you first then God's word an attachment to your life, not your life. There should be no division between you, the person and God and his word.

It is fair  to say that in 100 years or 500 or 1000 years everything can be different, Nations place in the world, Technology that may not even technology, weapons, space travel, how we live and our world can be radically different in a thousand years
so
the first trumpet of the earth, trees, grass, fire, hail, blood can have a completely different setting.
So
We can say something dramatic is happening on the earth concerning nature which is not pleasant.

The second trumpet talks about something like a great mountain  burning with fire was thrown into the sea and a third of the sea became blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died and a third of the ships were destroyed.
so
we can say the sea became blood because of the creatures that died and imagine how many people would have died with a third of the ships destroyed.
now
What has happened with the second trumpet? It appears that a terrible event has happened that killed what is in the sea and destroyed people on the sea.
now
Once again mankind must be at war with each other and it is affecting the oceans and this can be anything, such as the sea poisoned, maybe nature has been disturbed , polluted because of what people were doing and I think no-one knows what the event is. Except it is a time of distress and as we see other trumpets and seven plagues we see a progress as distress of mankind increases with events
so  
in the short time you can speculate and put together a scenario showing distress as mankind fight each other.
but
this first trumpet and second trumpet can be in 5 000 years ahead or maybe 10 000 years so the players on the earth, People, Nations, Technology can be nothing we imagined.
but
we do know there is distress coming for mankind and the only way to stop it is for mankind to repent, that is recognise the God who created the world and sent his son Jesus Christ into the world to save people. People are saved by Jesus Christ , so we encourage the world to listen to God. If mankind will repent, that is change their ways the world will not be destroyed because people on the earth are no longer fighting each other.

The third trumpet a great star fell from the heaven, blazing like a torch and it affected a third of the rivers and many people died.
Wormwood that polluted the rivers can be anything, once again we can think about how the rivers were poisoned.  But, what about in 5000 years what will it be that came down and affected the rivers. Something that may not even be in existence, except we can say a lot of people died.

The forth trumpet the sun was struck a third of the moon and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light was darkened, a third of the day did not shine and a third of the night. Are we witnessing war from space? We know that can be in the future.


Does it not tell you that something terrible is happening to the earth.
As I have been saying Satan has been loosed and now mankind is busy destroying themselves and it can be a war between nations
Remember we are talking about metaphors so we are witnessing sadness, distress on the earth.
and this  is the start of distress on the earth, even worse is to happen.
Remember I am saying the trumpets are not what God is or doing but the trumpets is giving us a picture of what mankind is doing to itself.
So, It appears to me that the four trumpets is letting his people that is you and me, Hendrik, what is happening shortly.
therefore in the short time you can even picture the nations can be in a position to fighting each other, and for good reason. Groups nations, peoples are interconnected so nations are forced to come on board to sort out a problem
such as. A group such as Israel and America forced to support Israel and then other nations are forced to participate.
such as Iran and its friends can be forced to come together fight for their so called enemies.
You can paint a picture of what can happen and things can spiral out of control.
that is now. So think about a 1000 years later or 5000 years and you can see that the canvas can be completely different with nations and technology.

It is important to never forget God has shown us what is happening in the future and God requires all mankind to repent, turn around and follow God.
Imagine how different the world would be if all nations followed the Royal Law and that is to love your neighbor and treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves.

But as we keep looking we see a picture that is even worse then the four trumpets. The distress the sadness that people inflict on each other is beyond words. It is absolutely disgraceful that nations people will inflict such horror on other people. not tell you that


Time is running away so I will talk about the  3 woes and chapter 9

.Do you agree the first 4 trumpets is showing us that the world is plagued with war and the whole world is involved. A war waged with technology with weapons that can destroy everything on the earth. You know that a nation can get under the radar and even with the best intentions by other nations rogue nations can get the upper hand and we also know their radical view is so serious if it involves killing millions of people these rogue nations will do it.
It is a frightening scenario and we will see this frightening scenario in the next few chapters. It happens and as God says right up till the end, the only way for the destruction of the world people to not happen, nations on the earth are to repent and in their repent they love their people, brothers, and treat others as they would like to be treated.

God has always stated, you are to love God with all your heart, soul and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. Definitely that means people are treating each other as God wants us to do.

Will the nations love their neighbours. It appears that in Revelation people, nations keep on killing each other. Sad this scenario is. Terrible but God has given us a window of the future actions of people on the earth.

The stakes are high because a group of people no matter who small they are can hold technology that can affect every country and nation and I think that is what we are seeing here in Revelation and the trumpets.
so
the first 4 trumpets herald a period of misery on the earth and note the 3 woes of the next 3 trumpets shows an increasing period of misery, terrible misery.
and
I am reminding you that we are dealing with destruction, misery and people, nations do to each other. God does not bring misery on mankind .
and also,
thinking about the Rapture, that is at a time someway in history God will rapture his people and that can happen while you are in an aircraft, maybe you are the pilot so many people will be killed as the plane crashes. Maybe you are in a car, the driver is raptured and the passengers are killed. that so many Denominations teach and the Baptist Churches and others. God does not cause evil or use evil. Mercy triumphs over judgment. Of course there is a judgement by God but he does what is right. He does it in righteous, he cares about you and the rest of the billions of people on the earth. I think the rapture teaching is a mistake.
This is my thinking. How about you?
as I have said,
God is about, pure, peace, gentleness, open to reason, merciful, all good things, no insincerity and no uncertainty  and mankind can come to God, Jesus any time. Right now God is saying Come! Come! There is no price, just come! As Revelation Chapter 22 tells us. Come! I say to you, Come!

1And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit.a2He opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft. 3Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth.4They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, but only those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5They were allowed to torment them for five months, but not to kill them, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings someone. 6And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.

7In appearance the locusts were like horses prepared for battle: on their heads were what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were like human faces, 8their hair like women’s hair, and their teeth like lions’ teeth; 9they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots with horses rushing into battle. 10They have tails and stings like scorpions, and their power to hurt people for five months is in their tails. 11They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit. 12The first woe has passed; behold, two woes are still to come.

13Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar before God, 14saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour, the day, the month, and the year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 16The number of mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand; I heard their number. 17And this is how I saw the horses in my vision and those who rode them: they wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphirec and of sulfur, and the heads of the horses were like lions’ heads, and fire and smoke and sulfur came out of their mouths. 18By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed, by the fire and smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths. 19For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails, for their tails are like serpents with heads, and by means of them they wound.

20The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk, 21nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.
