Faith Strong or weak

Faith is interesting to think about, your walk and my walk is 100% about  Faith and our faith can be strong or it can be weak, Jesus talks about his servants such as us.
“Hendrik give me both barrels, nearly all Christians in my Church rarely talk about their own Faith.”
“Ok, let me just make a few examples from Jesus.”
One of the real problems we have is that millions of Christians hold with two hands that you cannot work your way into Heaven. Which is absolutely true. You can never get into heaven by working hard. The only way to get into heaven is to surrender yourself to Jesus Christ. You off load yourself, empty yourself of all the things you have done in your life. When you confess to Jesus he then forgives you for your sin, the mistakes you made and you get a fresh start. A beautiful, new, fresh Faith  untainted from self and the world.

Jesus makes the point unless you are a little child you can never get into the Kingdom of God, as a child with Jesus you then grow up in the faith of Jesus Christ.

The reason you need to off load yourself is you need to have a strong foundation and the foundation is Jesus Christ and starting with Jesus Christ you then begin to build your house. Faith is your house. All that matters is Faith and your Faith is built in God’s Word and as you work for Jesus Christ your Faith will begin to grow.

So lets put things in the right order to make sure our Faith is the Faith Jesus talks about.

  • The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life. (Revelation chapter 22). So here we are told in coming to Jesus has no price. Therefore we can deduce we cannot work our way to be part of God’s Kingdom

Having said above, yes there is no price in coming to Jesus and once you are in the Kingdom of God you cannot be lazy

  • Jesus talks about servants who he gave 5 Talents, 3 Talents and 1 Talent. The person who had 5 Talents worked hard and added 5 Talents so they gave Jesus 10 Talents and Jesus praised them for what they did

However the person who had 1 Talent was afraid and did not work for Jesus Christ. Jesus was not happy and in fact Jesus was angry and tossed the servant away. (Matthew 25)

  • So there is a lesson from Jesus, yes, come to me there is not price, but after that do the work I want you to do

There is more to be added because listen to Paul in 1 Corinthian 3.

  • If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

“Wow! Hendrik, what does that mean?”
“This is something to think about in working for Jesus Christ”

What Paul is talking about how we work for Jesus our Lord. So you can work hard in God’s Kingdom but you can be doing a work Jesus did not want to do. Note you can be a Christian, but I guess you have been lazy and deliberately disobeying Jesus or maybe by error.

Note also if you do Jesus’ work there are rewards.

You also may be wondering how it works when you work here on the earth for Jesus Christ.

  • …they will receive rest from their labors and their deeds will follow them (Revelation 14)….

A wonderful point that you work for Jesus here on the earth maybe in your Church and as long as you are doing what Jesus wants you to to do that you will be rewarded in the next life, Kingdom of God

I think I have said enough about working for Jesus and have labored the point our whole life is to be Faith. We are only made righteous by Faith. It is Faith not works that we are made right with God.

I should  warn you that if you work in your Church or other places and you are doing what you believe you should do but Jesus did not ask you to do it, there is a possibility a nightmare might visit you when you die and Jesus says to you, “I do not know you” but you say “But I did great things for you” But  you never made sure maybe you are a Christian, so you were not working for Jesus but self.

“I wonder whether you have understood what I have said here.”
“Hi Mr. Hendrik to be a Christian is more involved that I thought.”
“I am going to show you that once you become a Christian and you are in the Kingdom of God, I am going to show you what I do to keep my Faith strong in Jesus Christ.”
“I’m all ears.”

I can clearly say, “The only reason I have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ is because I spend time with Jesus every day and usually early in the morning as an example I could wake up about 2 am and then I spend at least 1 hour or 1.5 hours and I have a project to memorize as much as I can from the Bible. My picture in my mind is that as I think about the Bible all the text are sitting in my mind and I feel as though I am living in the Kingdom of God. It is true for me I live in the Kingdom of God 24 hours a day.

Next time let’s look at my walk with Jesus Christ.
Our Goal, your goal and my goal is to be an athlete in the Kingdom of God and run the race that Jesus has given us to do

Next time.  Cheers, Hendrik
